Week 1: Finn’s Story
So the days have already flown by and we celebrated Finn in our life for a whole week today! For those curious about how this little guy decided to come into this world, check out this post on our labor & delivery 3 day bonanza! We brought him home Friday March 15th at 2:30 PM and our first week has been a whole range of emotions, from exhilarating to exhausting to nail biting, as we get to know our little man and he gets to know us.
Good Pee Habits
Who knew things like counting how many times your son pee’s in a day can quickly become an almost trip to the hospital as you realize he isn’t pee’ing enough! Luckily, Finn finally started to use his wee wee Sunday night after 2 days of holding it in (guess he was building up a reserve or just taking his time, sort of like his birth) so we were able to fend off an almost emergency as Ryan’s blood pressure started to sky rocket at the thought of another hospital visit. On a positive note, our week ended well as we successfully made it out of the house in one piece as we ventured to our first pediatrician visit, where we were reassured Finn is gaining weight, growing, and looking great!

Ryan proudly taking Finn for his first adventure to the pediatrician – we even got snow in March to mark the day!
Sucker
Finn is already starting to show his personality and has become quite the “sucker” to say the least. As I have learned, sucking his thumb and/or one of our fingers is a nice trick to getting him to sleep or relax, although not too realistic to keep a finger in his mouth to long.
As we settle into life with Finn, thanks to everyone who has helped and supported us not only throughout the pregnancy but in those first few days as we settled into our home with Finn. We realize every day life is, and will be different, going forward but now that he is here, what a treat it is to have him in our world. Here are a few more pictures to share – enjoy!
